PMAS Workbook

The purpose of this workbook is to support the training of Soccer/football Club Leaders, Officials, Managers, and Staff to better understand and manage (monitor & evaluate) the Whisperer Soccer/Football Club Development Curriculum design and implementation processes, which will ensure high performances in all areas of club operations. It is also aimed directly at coaches who are already our own trained and qualified.

If the leaders are already convinced that the club should and can do better, they have arrived at the right place. Much thought, effort, and resources have gone into training our coaches and much is expected of them. But up until now, it would not be accurate to say the same is true for training the club itself to respond positively to its own need for excellence, high performance, and sustainable success.

But now that the club has stepped up to the plate by being present, congratulations are in order; the clubs and its stakeholders at all levels will not be further disappointed.

During this process of orientation and training, it is not expected that the club leaders will acquire instant expertise on the tools, but rather that they will gain a full understanding of the performance management tools…the concepts, purpose, utility, and proper interpretation of the data/results. The Boards of Management at the soccer/football clubs will quickly appreciate how these tools can better facilitate a Performance Management and Appraisal System, and support a more science-based management information system at the clubs, for monitoring, evaluation, and quality control in performance on all levels.

The fearful chances of employing a coach that will not fit the program needs will subside at the end of this course, as the immediate empowerment to implement a system that will support the coaching staff, and drive the club to higher levels of performance on all fronts will warm the soul and reignite the passion to serve our beautiful game.

No member of the soccer/football Leadership of Coaching society should cause him or herself to be separated from this material once it is acquired. Everything that is included will have an impact on the future sustainability of the club, and the office of the coach. It would be unfair for the clubs not to sponsor full staff attendance as the material is presented in discussion format for participants to be able to select, adapt, and creatively utilize the material; surprising synergies are anticipated.

Required Pre-Course Reading: Principle 1 p1, from the Book of 100 Principles, which covers definitions, formation, development, and ‘affects’ of the Club – discussing starting, mantra, mission, launching, leadership, style, image, and goals.
