This book, titled above, introduces readers to the origins of the Whisperer conceptualization of essential management and technical discussion prompters, and club development and performance management principles. It explains the germination of a set of high-performance quality control tools that are highly functional and usable at all levels. The new qualitative performance analysis and evaluation tools will have room for further field testing and flexible utilization, by engaging them in advancing scholarly institutional development practices supported by the SFW Academy consultants.

It takes the reader on an ‘edutaining walkthrough’ of the germination of a new approach to club business, technical, and organizational development. The Whisperer’s anecdotal exploration of the basic nuances that club board members are required to understand, to make a more engaging and tangible contribution, to ultimately enhance high performance in the club office, and on the field, makes the extra effort and reward worth the while of the willing reader.

THE BOOK is of necessity, an unusually lengthy preamble to prepare clubs for the single most dramatic/drastic change to ever take place in the history of this beautiful game. The narrative explores the back story and explains the functional contexts of the Whisperer’s book “100 Principles for High-Performance Top Flight Soccer/Football” and surprises with a handy set of Down-Loadable High-Performance Assessment and Quality Assurance Tools that can transform the culture and fortunes of the fledgling clubs, overnight.

The processes introduced in the book will also allow the top-performing clubs to stretch their lead. Its reading is strongly recommended to enrich the spirit and fire the engine of Leadership for the challenging journey towards successfully implementing this Project at their Soccer/Football Clubs.

Each segment of the Prelude can be read and appreciated as a stand-alone and a couple of useful Club Leadership tools are included for trial, according to implementing a unique Performance Management System that will professionalize and improve all aspects of the high-performance game. The Prelude reaches back to apologize for the narrow conveyance of the author’s perspectives on improving the leadership, management, and performance culture of the game at any soccer/football club, regardless of its financial status.

To consistently lead in the replication of high standards of performance at the club and the game, diligent study…cerebral/cognitive reasoning, calculating measurements, and understanding the data collected for comparing performance to an adjustable benchmark… are required of the leadership. Understanding the plethora of performance management tools will allow the Board of Management and leaders to determine and select the required pieces to design their own needs related Soccer/Football High-Performance Program.

Performance Management Information System.
Such information as required can then be more easily technologized for efficient communication, but the knowledge base required must first be established and propagated throughout the clubs, to facilitate training for proper management authority and control.

There are tons of good materials out there that are even offered free but often give very little handle on the rudder to afford the club leadership the ability to navigate into the port of success. Having had the empirical experience of being the first President of a fairly successful soccer/football club, it was quite un-nerving to be leading in the dark, but worse than that would be to lead where the dark could not be seen. The material in the book of 100 Principles covers all that is needed to give club leaders at any level the ability to both see the dark and to see through the dark for more confidence and comfort in successfully guiding the affairs of the club.

Any busy club President who would have the good fortune of having this material read to them in bed would be up unusually early the next morning if they managed to have fallen asleep at all. As for the soccer/football coaches, they would confiscate the material and lock themselves away, only to re-appear smiling after they have felt that their initial panic would have been sufficiently dissipated…by their new knowledge. Henceforth, the only firing will be towards the opponent’s goal!

The combination terminology soccer/football is used pervasively throughout this project. In today’s sports arena the original term football, can mean more than one sport; the term soccer has only one meaning and has emerged as an attempt to distinguish the more beautiful game, by those who ironically created the misnomer of football for their own quite different and not very similar sport.

The term soccer now seems to be widely accepted, although a few die-hard purists still like to think that soccer means the ball is softer* and that it is played at a lower level, mostly for recreation and by children. However, the progress in popularity, technical growth, and development of the sport being called soccer in North and South America over the last 25 years have ensured that this Soccer vs Football argument is no longer on the brewed-liquid drinking agenda. So whether a club is FC or SC it won’t help and it does not matter; the better team on the day must outscore the opponent to win or postpone the bragging rights with a draw. *[this transcript long predates deflate-gate…ha ha!].

The World Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) is now rightly silent on the matter, so to satisfy everyone without once again setting off the furor, the combination term soccer/football is our way out to keep everyone in the same game.

The Soccer/Football Whisperer will not be busy in the hot seat trying to deal with the human resource management and technical hullabaloos that must come in the wake of this thesis. However, at the end of the match, the ideas generated and synergized from this project will certainly inform, equip, and empower the new CEO and the Club leadership going forward, as well as influencing interactive APPs development and other innovations within the pending soccer/football technologies.
